Proposal to Establish a Typology of Local Elites in Abancay
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this research is to propose a typology of the local elites in Abancay. The purpose of this model is to identify and classify the elites who exert influence in politics, economics, and culture, both at the local and regional levels. The justification for this study lies in the need to understand the power dynamics that develop in the local context. The methodology employed follows a qualitative approach, based on semi-structured interviews with expert academics: Alfredo Sumi Arapa (philosopher), Esmélida Zea (political scientist), and Katherin Mamani (political scientist). Additionally, a documentary analysis is conducted, supported by the works of three key theorists: Gaetano Mosca, Vilfredo Pareto, and Robert Michels, which allows for a deeper understanding of the local context. The theoretical framework is grounded in theories of power and elites, facilitating the construction of a typology to classify these local elites. In conclusion, this research proposes a typology to classify the elites of Abancay, aiming to understand the dynamics of local power.
